Moving here from Dublin in 2007, Mick has worked in various hospitality organisations throughout Sydney and currently managing one of Sydney's prominent Irish hotels.
Mick carries a strong focus on community celebrations and events. Organisation member and volunteer since 2016, Vice-President for 5 years and elected President in 2024.
Lorraine McCann
Vice President
Lorraine proudly hails from Dublin and has travelled nearly every inch of Australia since moving here in 1989. As a keen advocate for mental health awareness, Lorraine has volunteered for many local and Irish organisations before taking up the role as Secretary in 2019 moving to Vice President in 2024.
Lorraine has been the parade lead for many years, including the successful city street parade in 2024, a huge voice for Irish culture in Sydney.
Orla Ingle
Secretary
Born in Dublin, Orla travelled to Australia in 1998 as a backpacker and never left! After travelling the length and breath of Australia with work starting in Program and Service Management. Orla joined the committee in 2023 supporting the parade team and moved into the Secretary role in 2024.
Orla is a huge advoke of the Irish culture and was inspired to join the dedicated team of volunteers to showcase Sydney's bustling Irish music, dance and language within our communities.
A long, long way from Cloneen, Tipperary, Kay has lived and worked in many countries around Europe before landing herself (and family) in the Emerald City.
While in Sydney, Kay has always carried a volunteer mindset, working with various organisations over the years before joining the organisation in 2021 and officially elected into the Treasurer role in 2024.
Anyone who knows Kay knows there is probably not a switch off button anywhere, and we must go with the flow on that one!!

Shannon Green
Event Manager
Shannon is first generation Irish with her mother hailing from County Antrim in Northern Ireland. Having always been connected to her Irish roots, Shannon travelled from Australia to County Clare to marry her partner in 2018 (and yes it rained!). Combining her background in live events and passion for Irish culture and heritage, Shannon volunteered with the committee in 2021 supporting event logistics before taking on the Event Manager role in 2022.
Diarmaid Calvey
Fundraising Manager
Hailing from Milford, Co. Carlow, Diarmaid settled in Sydney after travelling most of Australia. Diarmaid is an engineer currently working in the construction industry in Sydney. Diarmaid joined the committee in 2021 working closely with fundriasing and has taken on the Fundraising Lead role in 2022 to lead us through 2023 Festival and beyond!
